JUANITA JUANITA

Juanita, Juanita
With a rose in your teeth
You remind me of a bride
On 42nd Street
Who can walk on water
Who can walk on glass
And terrorize the boys
In the underpass

Juanita, Juanita
You look so sweet
It's hard to believe
That you can be so mean
If your eyes were bullets
I'd be shot
If your lips were knives
I'd be in a thousand different parts

I feel as helpless as a blind peeping Tom
You must be the devil with a blue dress on

Juanita, Juanita
Queen of the Streets
I followed you down
To the river of deceit
Where nothing is ever
The way that it seems
And thieves in the night
Will steal your dreams

Juanita, Juanita
I'd make you my wife
But I'd be terrified
For the rest of my life
It's not the razor blades
That you carry to bed
It's the blood on the sheets
That scares me to death

I'm as helpless as a sailor surrounded by nuns
You must be the devil with a blue dress on

Juanita, Juanita
Mother of the night
Goddess of destruction
But you're lookin' all right
I wouldn't cross you
In all of my life
I'd rather make love
To the president's wife

Juanita, Juanita
A kiss is just a kiss
But when I kiss you
I'm never on the list
Of the men who fell
Down at your feet
Juanita, Juanita
How can you be so mean

I feel as helpless as a blind peeping Tom
You must be the devil with a blue dress on

This was David's bass line and chords. Douglas' riff was the chorus melody for Marc's original lyrics, a somewhat sad song. When it came time for Marc to record his voice and he came in with these lyrics, the band said, like, whoa... what's this? But it worked!!
